Position Overview

The psychologist will conduct a wide range of evaluations such as assessing cognitive, academic, and adaptive functioning, assessment for the presence of learning and developmental disabilities, including autism, ADHD and others, evaluating mental health, including trauma, assessing guardianship questions, and completing court-ordered forensic evaluations for various court systems/attorneys.

In this position, the psychologist will administer evidence-based measures relevant to the referral reason and will accurately interpret results to come to diagnostic conclusions. Evaluation reports will be completed and will include specific recommendations geared toward the referral reason and the client. There may be supervisory responsibility with doctorate level student interns and/or master’s level interns/ therapists.

The psychologist can expect to work with multiple referral sources such as Community Center Boards (CCBs), Program Approved Service Agencies (PASAs), courts, various county human services departments (DHS), Medicaid and other insurances, as well as individuals and families who privately seek out our services. The psychologist is also responsible for participating in billable hours with diagnostics evaluations.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide intensive, integrated professional mental health services and treatment planning in outpatient and community-based settings in accordance with Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) as well as Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) rules and regulations and provide professional leadership in the determination of appropriate therapeutic approaches and methods
  • Conduct evaluations and write comprehensive, well-integrated reports with recommendations and provide feedback and follow-up on evaluations
  • Provide consulting services with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, legal and other treatment agencies and individuals in relation to therapeutic casework, records, rights, and responsibilities
  • Create and maintain case files and related documentation for clinical, legal, and regulation purposes

What You’ll Need

  • Doctorate or equivalent degree in psychology or relevant field
  • License is required with at least 3 years of post-licensure experience
  • Working knowledge or experience with psychological testing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or similar software components with the ability to create, compose and edit written materials
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Professional attitude with a team focus, the ability to self-direct and exhibit dependability, patience and honesty
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the requirements of PPCH’s auto insurance carrier

Bonus Points for Having

  • Training and knowledge around trauma work
  • Supervisory experience

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

This position requires repetitive lifting and carrying of approximately 15 pounds. Work may include repetitive motions such as typing and sitting at a computer and daily significant contact with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, community members and professionals within the community, in individual homes, and at work site locations. You must utilize safety skills while walking, driving, and maneuvering through various weather conditions.
