Our independent practice health psychology group is seeking to expand by adding another provider. We offer a combination of in-person and telehealth services and prefer applicants who are able to provide in-person care 1-2 days per week in our Greeley office. Our practice provides assessment and treatment services to medical patients, including numerous patients from diverse and marginalized populations.
This practice is best known for treating patients with injuries, chronic pain, and common comorbid conditions such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, PTSD and TBI. The work involves conducting behavioral health evaluations and providing evidence-based outpatient treatments. We also regularly collaborate with physicians.
Although experience in health, rehab or pain psychology is preferred, we recognize that many clinical programs do not include this, and we offer training for the right person. We are also open to those who are interested in working either full or half time, and who have a strong interest in this type of work.
We have served cities in Colorado for over 30 years. Our Greeley office is in a moderate-sized city with universities, easy access to art, theater, sporting events and other large city activities in Denver, and outdoor activities in Rocky Mountain National Park and elsewhere. While we feel all the cities in Northern Colorado have unique strengths, in 2020 livability.com rated Fort Collins as the “Best Place to Live in
America.”
The typical full-time workload is about three days of patient care a week, along with additional time necessary to complete notes, reports, and other administrative work, which can be performed on site or at home. Our pay structure is based on patient load and related billing, which is largely determined by the clinician's discretion. For this reason, salary can vary widely.
A comprehensive benefits package is available for those that work more than about half time (criteria vary slightly by type of insurance). The benefit package provided includes health, vision, dental, disability, malpractice and general liability insurance, a retirement plan, and a competitive level of pay. Benefits also include a flexible schedule, and we support all having a positive work/life balance.
The practice also offers opportunities for involvement in research and professional initiatives if desired. Our practice is supported by a very capable administrative staff, who handle billing, scheduling, medical records, transcription etc. and in general make our lives much easier.
Why Work at HPA?
- Independently owned and operated by psychologists (no private equity)
- Long-standing and stable clinic that has been in practice in Colorado since the 1980s
- We affirm and celebrate DEIA and passionately advocate for patients facing systemic inequality
- Our patient population is very diverse, especially in terms of disability status, SES, language/nationality of origin, and presenting concerns
- Possibility to treat a small caseload of patients outside of the worker’s compensation system, in an area of the clinician’s interest (e.g., eating disorders, bariatrics, chronic illness), if the clinician chooses to get credentialed through personal insurance
- Our psychology staff are academically-minded and service-oriented. Every HPA staff psychologist will be publishing original academic work this year, and we all currently serve in official roles within APA (e.g., Chair of the Pain Psychology SIG of Division 38; President-Elect of Division 22; Chair of the Clinical Health Services Council for Health Psychology; member of the editorial board of The Health Psychologist)
- Clinician quality of life is a core value at HPA. We offer a flexible clinical schedule determined by clinicians' preferences and do not have productivity requirements. We offer competitive reimbursement rates.
- Our benefits package includes great health insurance and a 401k
- Our administrative staff are experienced and dedicated to our patients’ and clinicians’
success.
- Highly supportive and family-friendly professional culture. In no particular order, our psychologists enjoy hiking, photography, raising toddlers, and winning fudge contests.
